I think one of the most fun my wife and I had was to visit a nudist resort in Michigan for a week. Lots to do ... swimming, boating (small lake), hiking in the nude, a dance in the community center (almost but not quite nude). We rented a cabin there and had an absolutely delightful time.

Best as a family was probably our trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Beautiful, beautiful mountains. Lots of park entertainment. Close to a lot of scenic locations and even the tourist Mecca of Gatlinburg . There's a wonderful auto tour route into the Smoky Mountains just outside of Gatlinburg with old cabins and such from the early settling of the area.

We had a ball there. Spent a week tent camping and it was fun.
