I don't like the woman, mind you.....but I think she did it all right. She got her incarceration over and done with, the tantalizing image of Martha's first day in jail is off the menu for all TV's talking heads. If she hadn't gone in before the appeals, that would still be all people thought about with her. She's handled herself well, inside, by all reports (not that I'm looking for them, but sometimes pop. culture just seeps into your awareness). She's smiling and posing for the reporters politely now. She's not playing pissed off diva where people can see her, she's gonna still fight to clear her name...but until then she's taking her licks and being sweet to the press. Trust me, she's gonna give everyone what they want....a "my time inside" tell all book. She's going to take on inmate's rights as a quiet, personal "Princess Di-esque" crusade. She's going to be willing to talk about her time openly and honestly on Larry King or whoever else will book her when she's done with house arrest. And folks are going to love her for all of it. And all the while she's going to be starting up the business interests as if the rest had never happened. It's going to be back to "unreachable standards and rediculous expectations incorporated".
It aint a good thing, but you've got to admire the skill she's using. A damned sight more effective than looking for "the real killers" on the golf courses of America.
