I suffer from migraines..

February 2002, at the age of 38, I had what was called a TIA (transeit(sp) ischmic attack) which is a small stroke that could have been caused by my migraine medication. The warning on the medicine was that in 2% of the population taking the medicine they could suffer from a stroke, heart attack, etc.

I appeared as if I were drunk... I thought Cobalt had a blue feather in his hair, my speech was slurred.. my left side was slightly paralyzed, I walked as if my left leg had fallen asleep (dragging/shuffling) and strenght tests were very different from one side of my body to the other. The left side of my face felt numb...one of the tests the docs in the emergency room had me do was stick my tongue out at them....if my tongue listed to one side that indicated some paralysis...it did, but it only lasted a day. I was VERY lucky.

I have special medicine for my migraines, and I have to be very careful and be monitored when I have one in case it happens again.
