As I promised ... here's a picture of the fort. (How do I always pick cloudy days?  ) On the Memorial Day weekend they have a festival called "Rendezvous" which recalls the fur trading days along the Illinois River. People camp in traditional French and Indian style and conduct "military" demonstrations from the late 17th century. A lot of good food and interesting craft demonstrations. Makes for a fun weekend. |
