Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Located at the forks of the Red and Asiniboine River. Winnipeg is often referred to as ‘The Gateway to Western Canada’. It was the historic summer meeting place of Native Americans, the home to The Hudson Bay Company of Adventure and the North West Company fur trading posts.

For most I would think that visiting Winnipeg would be more enjoyable in the summer. We can and often do get temperatures down to -30c in January and February. But in the summer it is warm and sunny. Come join the Winnipeg Folk Festival, The Jazz or Fringe fest. For some ethnic diversity come and see Folkarama. There are 46 different cultures showing you there national dance, dress, songs, and food.

The photo is of the Pavilion in Assiniboine Park. It houses an Art Gallery, restaurant, and gift shop. This is also where The Royal Winnipeg Ballet does there ’Ballet in the Park’ series.
