Actually, there are two that I visit ... both city parks (different towns) of 1,000 acres or more.

Both are very wooded with lots of trails and secluded areas (better for some pictures ). The one with the deer has two small lakes for fishing and in a flat Illinois, some low rolling ground.

What I really like is to go at about 6AM when you often have the parks to yourself. It's a quiet, peaceful place to drink coffee (or take pictures). There's a couple of state parks nearby, but they're just a bit further so haven't gone to them as much.
