I think the penny-pinching now in terms of material things and doing without the frills, will give you so much more in the end. You'll have all those priceless moments and wonderful memories with your son. Enjoy every minute because they grow up so fast!!

PS: Just an added thought from my own life.......
I still don't have curtains on all my windows, my furniture is a mix-n-match collection of other peoples cast offs, etc, etc. But my high school senior, who's been reminiscing, thanked me last week for being at every school function, baking for class parties, and going on almost every field trip. Of course I didn't bother to say I had as much fun as the kids!! One of a few perks of being a stay-at-home Mom.
