Lovely butterfly and spider too.I am glad you let the spiders live free.I let them go around the house and love to watch them spin webs to catch the flies.Cicadas aren't from around here so I have never seen one.But if they are harmless,they deserve a place to. Wasps and hornets are a different story.The can attack in self defense and hurt and sometimes even kill.Have you ever seen their mud nests beneath the roofs? I hate to advocate the distruction of any species,but if they're a danger,spray a little WD40 near the entrance of the nests.This will oil their wings and bodies so they can't fly.
