I know that putting together such an event can be alot of work, but I also know that it's worth it. I was very active at a chatsite several years ago. There were two parties in my area that were well attended, and a great time was had by all. There were also some events in other parts of the country that I wasn't able to attend. The parties themselves were fairly simple and everyone pitched in with money and food.
