The media is giving this a little play today. It should be interesting to see how effective this internet organized boycott is, if at all. The net financial effect to the oil companies will be nothing at best if the same amount of fuel is purchased, no matter what DAY it’s gotten. I am more interested in seeing what a grass roots, internet coordination can actually do.

I’m also wondering how many OTHER entities are watching the effectiveness of this little experiment? IF, by the slim chance it does have any notable effect, could this medium be seen as a security concern by paranoid reactionary authorities? What might be their reaction and considered method of dealing with it? Is it being watched as a potential tool that could be used for misinformation during an event by the bad guys? What other people of true power and influence are watching this and with what potential purpose could they be thinking?
