Quite true. I was referring to the edit buttons of posts by other members. Note that the edit button is in close proximity to the quote button. All posts by regular old members should be non editable by all other regular old members. If the edit button of posts made by member.name != my.member.name are disabled, and if the IP Logged link is derived similarly, then no error transactions of this form need be processed on the server.
I’m guessing of course, but as the page is dynamically generated, there may be a net reduction in I/O if the urls are not included when the member does not have the appropriate privileges. This information already exists, as it is evaluated when the link is clicked.
