Seasonal Job Issues

New Hampshire tourism officials are struggling to fill hundreds of seasonal jobs held last year by skilled foreign workers. The federal government announced early in March that the nation had reached its congressionally mandated cap of new workers, leaving some business owners scrambling to fill temporary summer slots. An employment recruiter in New Hampshire says the announcement started intense competition to find documented workers still in the country. Concerned business owners have flooded the offices of New Hampshire's US Senators Judd Gregg and John Sununu with phone calls looking for help. A bill pending in the US senate would increase the cap from 66-thousand to 106-thousand new workers a year.
