OSCAR-hopeful LOST IN TRANSLATION led the way at yesterday's (28FEB04) INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS, winning four awards including Best Picture.

SOFIA COPPOLA picked up Best Director and Best Screenplay, whilst lead star and fellow ACADEMY AWARD nominee BILL MURRAY won Best Actor.

CHARLIZE THERON was named Best Actress for her performance in MONSTER, whilst DJIMON HOUNSOU and SHOHREH AGHDASHLOO won Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress for IN AMERICA and HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG respectively.
