Ironically Catch22.....I just saw a test on taste buds yesterday and there are some folks who can tolerate hot & spicy much better than others.

Here's what I learned.......The human tongue is made up of tiny bumps (and don't ask me to spell the name of those bumps cause I'd pee my pants trying) and in spite of what we once thought about a zone for certain tastes....it's not true. All buds can taste all flavors. It's just that some tongues have more buds in certain spots and possibly less in other areas of the tongue and so the part with the most buds gets the best flavor.

Gawd....that sucked as an explaination! Wish I could draw it for you....but here we go at another attempt....

Picture the human tongue as a flat surface with polka dots on it. Some people have more polka dots really, really close together.....and other people have a dot here and a dot there and maybe a small cluster way in the back....or maybe not!

Depending on how many "polka dots" one has....and how close together they are......the more you can taste a hot flavor or a bitter flavor. Example: Do you know someone who can bite and chew a jalapena <sp?> or habenero pepper and if you took a bite you would gasp and lose your breath....but they just laugh at you and have another bite? Well......they have less "polka dots" than you do!

I figure it this way...........if we are more sensitive to hot and spicy....than we get the best effect from performing oral......and the guy/girl who can eat a hot pepper and laugh at you is surely missing out on more than they know.....so we get the last laugh!!!!

*giggle*
