Well...I don't know if the new ones are immersible.....but mine isn't. I wish I could take the cook surface out and put it in the dishwasher. I don't trust just wiping things down.....I'm a disinfecting freak (personal problem....nothing can be done about that...lol!).

Maybe my problem is the marinade I inject some of my meats with. I have this really cool food injector and some yummy cajun style marinade which I inject into the meat instead of just soaking it in it. But I made two delmenico <sp?> steaks last night and I didn't inject them and they came out fantastic but the gook is caked on the thing. I usually wait till it's cooled to clean but last night I tried it while it was still warm....and I don't find either way easy or actually as clean as I would like!

Oh gawd.....I am so anal at times!
