I've always been one to just go for it, I enjoy the excitement of not knowing what is coming. But if your unsure how your partner would react I think it is best to discuss it first. I'm pretty much open to trying anything once. Even if you think your partner maynot be into whatever you suggesting at the time, it can still lead to trying new things if your both aware of what the other wants.
