My state won't list them without an email request......in accordance with Megan's Law........

What is Megan's Law?

On October 24, 1995, Governor Tom Ridge signed into law Act 24 of 1995 (Special Session 1) creating the Pennsylvania Registration of Sexual Offenders Act (Megan's Law). Megan's Law was one of a series of laws enacted during the 1995 Special Session on Crime. Megan's Law was amended on May 22, 1996 by Act 46 of 1996, on May 10, 2000 by Act 18 of 2000, on December 20, 2000 by Act 113 of 2000, and most recently on October 17, 2002 by Act 127 of 2002. The purpose of Megan's Law is to protect the safety and general welfare of the general public by providing for registration of "sexual offenders" and for registration and community notification of "sexually violent predators" scheduled to be released into the community.

Megan's Law Update -

On September 25, 2003 the Pennsylvania Supreme Court interpreted this provision of Megan's Law to require that a specific request be made before this information can be provided via electronic means.
