Well, it seems like getting back together with her would be a good thing. But, I'd advise working on the depression in such a way that if you broke up again, it wouldn't come back with a vengeance...if that makes any sense. The other thing is that I don't really understand how these "other things" - and I'm not sure what they even are - would fall into place. Possibly the relationship would give you the confidence to make them fall into place, but as I said, I wouldn't make that confidence too tightly coupled to the relationship once you've gained it.
