Did you know the platypus is only found in Australia and its island state, Tasmania.

It is officially classified as "Common but Vulnerable" in Australia. As a species, it is not currently considered to be endangered.

Until the early twentieth century, platypus were widely killed for their fur. The species is now protected by law throughout Australia.

My Girl Scout troop recently represented Tasmania at our yearly International Fair. So I thought I'd share some of what we learned. :-)

These are cute and definetly not endangered.... lol.
