Being romantic is purely subjective. I know some people who are romantic and have no clue that they are and some that think they are but that I would not consider them to be.

Being a flirt has nothing to do with being romantic, in fact to me it can signify the very opposite. Being romantic involves taking the time to know someone and to do ( that verb thing again) things that show that person that they are important to you. Romance and intimacy are closely related to me and flirting excessively can actually be a way to avoid intimacy so I see them as possible opposites.

To me candles and wine do not mean someone is romantic. If you want to impress me romantically be creative, be considerate. Hell you can do kind things for someone else and I'll see it as romantic. Being chivalrous is an extremely romantic gesture to me.
