You shouldn't feel anything but the way you feel about it hun.

In fact good for you that you don't feel damaged by it. Don't turn yourself into a victim, just because you feel you ought to.

I have the occasional memory of witnessing something I was too young for - whether on TV or in real life and I can relate to that same, fascination/fear that you describe. You were too young at the time to understand the full implications of the situation, and more importantly you were too young to understand your own reaction to it.

Now is the time, (now you're "safe" and a long way away from that place) to think about it and try to make some sense of it. When you feel you've done that, don't dwell on it. Try to think of it as an experience that has helped to make you you and file it away with any other bizarre/unusual/unpleasant memories you may have had in the past.
