Is this an issue......or am I the only one who thinks this?
*Oh shit.....how do I say this without being stereotypical*
I've had a woman boss....and then I've been my own boss.....and now I work for a man. With that said............
The clash between me and the woman boss was so evident I HAD to quit after only 2 years! (I tend to stay in most relationships, personal or professional, longer than some would.....just thinking it will get better). I was under paid and, quite frankly, she would downgrade me at every turn she deemed necessary. But never once did the work I did for her.....come back as unacceptable. She just kept saying it would. She said she saw my potential and I wasn't living up to it. I shoulda punched her lights out.......BLAH!
I miss working for me......I was the best boss I ever had!
Now, I work for a man. He is extremely nice in a face to face circumstance. But, through bitch fests aforementioned, I now know that I am once again underpaid and only appreciated when things get so tense and deadlines are to be met. "Ask "Lixy"....she can handle it and we pay her so little and she is so good, we can't help but have a win/win situation"! I can just hear them now.
Don't get me wrong........I make pretty good money. But I know I am worth more.......and I have found out that a few fellow (male) employees......(who have only just started with the company and have nowhere near the talent I have and don't do anywhere near the amount of work I do) are making almost as much as I do......give or take $1.00 or two. I'm about to confront the owner (for the second time since I have been at this company) about this issue. They hate it when I am the one to call a meeting.......as I know they know it's gonna require some fancy footwork on their part and they are never prepared for what I have to say!
So, I guess what I am asking is...........anyone experiencing discrimination?.........or is it just me? One guy I am an aquaintance of, once told me that women put themselves in this situation on purpose just so they can bitch about something. I DID punch him.....just ask hubby.....he had to clean up my light work! LMFAO! He hates when I get demonstrative!
