I have a friend who lost his eyesight a couple years ago. Thankfully he was able to have it restored, but not for about a year or so after he lost it. Do not give up hope Sands. I cannot imagine the difficulties you will be facing, but with hope comes courage, and with courage comes the ability to overcome any setback. Be strong Sands, I am praying for you.
