M*A*S*H was among the great ones, but I understood, it was past time to go...hell, the series lasted over 4 times longer than the Korean War itself LOL

Prob'ly more shows overstayed their welcome IMHO than died too young, but one in particular still stands out that pissed me off to no end when it got the ax was a little docu series called Our World, with Linda Ellerbie & the late Ray Gandolf...it's been 20 years since the unlucky 13th episode aired, yet I still have the complete season on VHS. Each episode focused on a day/week/month/season from a year in the (mostly) recent past, usually in the lifetime of us baby boomers, & it's still one of the smartest shows I ever saw on network TV; too smart for its own good, apparently. It was set up against the Cosby Show juggernaut, & while I enjoyed watching the Huxtable clan in their early days (before each episode became a sermon rather than a sitcom), "World" was a nice alternative for the 10% of us that wanted to see something other than what everybody else watched...plus, ABC had to know they couldn't win that time slot, & since a little show produced by their news division cost only a little more than running a test pattern, I thought they could at least give it a little more time...
