I don't think the US has an erotic 'image', as a country. As a foreigner who hasn't visited the country, the way it comes across to me, is a little bit prudish and somewhat self righteous. The US puts across a 'clean cut cheer-leader' type image which betrays the pulsing passion which throbs beneath its somewhat anti-septic exterior.

As for my own green and pleasant land, I'd say sexual: yes, erotic: no. We are always in there first with the smutty jokes and the dirty gossip (just look at our tabloid press) but haven't the faintest clue, as a collective, about sensuality, eroticism and the art of love.

And here is the disclaimer: these are my perceptions of these two great Nations based on the images they portray to the rest of the world. The true nature of the individuals who live there are more likely than not, very different from the external image we see. So please don't be offended, Pixie-people!x
