I've never been offended by having someone nurse near me.
Like everything else, it's a matter of how it's done. If one is discreet and considerate of the discomfort nursing may cause others, then it shouldn't be an issue. Mrs. WI nursed everywhere we went. In the shopping malls, in the high school halls (sorry...bad Rush quote), wherever we were when the baby needed to eat. She'd use a baby blanket for some privacy and though people knew she was nursing...we never got any stares or comments. Nothing but respect.
