i don't shave it all off very often ... usually leave a bit there for personal hygiene and aesthetic reasons ... but i have gone totally smooth inside, outside and backside. either way, i find witch hazel (dirt cheap product) will work well to soothe skin. we have a product here called bikini zone...i love it, works great (has witch hazel in it and some other skin conditioners.) more expensive than just plain witch hazel but you don't need much.

don't spend too much time in the shower...or wetting your skin...beforehand; it only serves to swell it, making it harder to get a close shave ergo making stubble appear sooner. shaving against the direction of hair growth will mar and razor burn skin. make sure your razor is brand spankin’ new and extremely sharp every time you shave. sharp blades make for less damage to skin and remove coarse hair much better than a blade used even just once before. i like the triple and quadruple bladed ones that pivot on curvy areas.

there are also home kits for waxing.

and dilapatories like nair and neet here in the US...similar products across the pond, perhaps?…they can be harsh on sensitive areas, though…and whatever you do DON’T get any up inside
