The ultimate waste of photon grouping has to be 'Eraser Head'.  It was the granddaddy of The Blair Witch Project type movie for the mutual admiration society of the artsy-fartsy elite  with enough deep meanings about nothing to make Seinfeld look like a NOVA special.
