Thrushbeard, thanks for the wise words.
I think I'm pretty much sorted in terms of the theory of child rearing. My background in educational psychology helps with that, and the reason I studied that in the first place was because I have a natural intuition when it comes to how people think/develop, but it's the day to day practicalities that I've no idea about yet!
Fussy and my Mum will be with me, but if either of them feel they can't cope with the situation, I'm not going to pressurise them into staying. Fussy is pretty good with guts and gore (unlike me) so I don't think he'll be passing out, and hopefully he'll be there with me the whole time, as he's always my strength when I'm frightened or unsure. We're going to just go with the flow, since there are so many variables that can change at any given moment, it's hard to plan something in stone.
He certainly won't be handing out cigars - haven't you heard the stats on smoking related cot deaths?!?!?!?!?! LOL - told you I was up on the theory of it all, didn't I?!
