It sounds like they sure put the clamps to you. Help me out here. There aren't that many components to a standard brake system and unless they replaced all of them along with the lines, they're fucking with you.
The small steel tubes, any fittings and maybe short hoses at the ends, shouldn't cost over $50 total.
All of the lines are surface mounted along the frame and don't require a lot of other disassembly to get at, like so many other things on a car. If this was done on a rack, even by a shade-tree mechanic, it shouldn't take more than a day. (I can't envision more than 4-5 hours having to fight every fitting) Unless they are getting $150-$200/hour in your area, they stuck the master cylinder to you.
Either you have a very reasonable chance of going back for some answers or I should be packing some tools and taking even my decrepit old ass down there.


Anybody else find that price to be absolutely unreal by 3-4 times?
