Now...on with my opinion/advice!

^^^^that's the end result of a relationship of this nature. I played this over in my head in many different scenarios and not once did a scenario end with, "I understand the attraction my darling daughter. I give you and your "dad" my blessing. I'll just find another man for myself".

As I read your query I thought to ask EXACTLY what Lilith and Alasse put forth. Do you love your mother? Do you care about her feelings? Do you know there are some lines we should just NEVER cross?

And, I have more questions! Is your town out of available men? Did you ever want to stick your hand in a fire or jump off a cliff but had the restraint because you knew it wouldn't be good for you or anyone involved in your life?

But then...we might be assuming too much. I should first ask...Is your step-dad divorced from your mother for years now? Or...does your mother still assume she has a happy marriage? Is your mother still alive?
