but this isn’t just about religious doctrine. part of it is that if it is eventually proven (somehow) that genes are all or partly responsible for a persons' sexual orientation, then not to afford them the same rights a hetero-sexual has would be discrimination. granted, private orgs would not have to comply, but it's becoming increasing less tolerated to discriminate in any way (omg, that's irony for ya! lol) and many private orgs are abolishing policies that exclude certain peeps. govn't especially (and yes, even churches) would have to be very careful if they continued in their current positions regarding homosexuality in the evnt it is proven to have genetic roots. you are right in being skeptical, gekko: there will always be those who will never accept. ideally, it wouldn’t matter to a person, a church, a govn’t, a company, a club why a persin is gay, or white, or male, or disfigured - these basic things that say nothing of our character. hell, as long as i’m wishing for ideals here, it wouldn’t even matter IF, but anything that gets our society a few steps closer to what i would consider true freedom is nothing to scoff at.
