Still have the ancient Water bed with the low 6-drawer pedestal...no footboard, & a year or 2 ago I built a bookcase headboard that is totally separate from the bed...& we still have the straps/ropes mounted to the pedastal at the head of the bed...not really intended as restraints, designed more to keep her legs in the air...but easy enough to use them as tie-downs if the mood strikes...
