Ours is a double pedestal waterbed.. king size but has a regular mattress designed to fit into a waterbed frame. The pedistals are actually drawers..2 high and six on each side. I am short - so getting in and out of the damn thing is an experience in mountain climbing for me. Cobalt on the other hand can basically fall into it..

The height has helped him when I have bent over the end of the bed and when I stand on the side of it I can lay one of my legs along the matress and stand (kinda) on one foot.. other than that I cuss the bed everytime I get in and out of it because it is so high off the ground.. grrrrrrrrrr
