Lingerie dilemma
 

So I've got a lot of nice lingerie, much of which has been featured in these very pages, that no longer fits, and I need the drawer space. Most of it has been worn only once, because I lose interest once the novelty is over.

What do you do with it? It's too nice to throw away; but do I just put it in the Goodwill bag? Will they just throw it away? It's clean, but would people be squeamish about used lingerie? I'm not sure if there's any market value for gently used frillies.

Can I put it in a box outside the supermarket and mark it "Free to good home"?

Try one of the consignment shops

Very few places will deal in used underwear and other intimates.

I agree that a consignment shop might take what you have. I've seen lingerie in a few that I go to. Ebay or Craiglist is a good idea. You should check on there and see if there is an interest for used lingerie. I know that if it was clean and gently worn, I wouldn't have a problem buying used. Once it's been in my washing machine, it's mine. :nod:

That's how I feel about it, too, but I imagine for a lot of people, there's still an "ewww" factor to be overcome. I don't even care about making any money; I'd just be glad for someone to get some use out of the stuff. It seems such a waste to toss them in the trash.

I imagine there'd be a whole bunch of folks at Craigslist who'd be too thrilled to have my used undies...though I'm not entirely sure I want to go down that road. :rofl:

I think BIBI is on to something. You've got PF's birthday, Easter, St. Patrick's Day; 4th of July; Thanksgiving and Christmas gifts all ready for him. :D He'd be in heaven!

Yeah, I was going to suggest that PF might find a use for it, but I see that several others already have.

And I'd be all over that plan if his moniker were "Merry Widow Fanatic" or "Camisole Set Fanatic." :D Not much in the way of panties in this collection, except as part of a set, I'm afraid. I was able to pawn some off on a friend last night; she'll shop through the rest tomorrow and maybe give it a good home.

He'll take anything silky in a pinch......... :)

I try to never think about abominations like lingerie that isn't needed any more. :( I guess you could lower the flag to half mass for 30 days, sprinkle it with white spots :boink: and dream of the 'nice home' you want it to have. You can take comfort that the memorial in my Pixie library will be preserved with great fondness. :tongue:
