Mr. Lil was not 30 minutes on his way for a dude weekend when every fixture in my house refused to drain. So much for my sexy single chick weekend. Now I'm waiting for a plumber at weekend rates $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Bah humbug!

Do you have a tanked septic (I'd be surprised) or has something crushed a sewer pipe at street level?

Yes, I have a tank. I called 2 dif companies and no one returned my call. I need it cleared and I need pipe layed. ;)

I'm sure there are plenty of guys (and probably women) who would be more than happy to do some laying around your house. Not sure if they want to mess with your septic system though. Sorry to hear about the problem though; am I correct in assuming Rid-X won't do the job?

You are correct. It's a big problem that requires the tank to be drained so the repairs can be made.

Ouch! I'm hoping against hope that you don't need new field lines, but based on what you've said so far, that's what you're looking at. I had that problem shortly after buying my 1st house...fortunately my fixtures drained OK, but we were the 1st residents to use a washing machine in several yrs, & every time it ran, so did the back yard. Had the honey dipper truck out to clear the tank, but yrs of neglect had plugged the drain lines (funny how nobody tells you that septic tanks aren't maintenance-free until it's too late!), & estimates were $3000 & up (in early 1980's $$$) to dig up new lines. I was able to stall for 2-3 yrs, as they were just getting the sewer lines out to my neighborhood, lucky for me no one from codes ever looked at my back yard.

My lines should be fine they run down hill. It's the pipe going in to the tank that iis cracked and is probably letting dirt in. The pipe was installed incorrectly and concreted in. Over the years the concrete has worn away. There is no clean out valve installed so it has to be installed too.

Well it took me k'vetching to a friend at work to get help. Her sexy hubby is a contractor and he made one call and said they'd be waiting on me at the house at 9 am. 18 years of sludge. Found out I have an antique tank. The guys were all happy to find one. It's round on the bottom.

I just took my first hot shower in 3 days. I was so happy I could have blown everyone of them to show my gratitude.

Note to self.....do something extremely nice for Lilith in exchange for bj.......
