We are doing Toys for Tots, and a group I belong to is working on adopting a needy family in our area. I love the idea of helping out a whole family from gifts to food so they have a memorable and happy holiday.

We usually get something for an angel tree kid. I also give at least five bucks to the red cross bucket at wal mart. Not much, but it's something. I like doing the teddy bear runs and what not, but I haven't heard anything about one this year.

You're kidding right? We have them all over the place. Kroger, the Shell Station, Wal Mart.......

The Red Kettles that are outside Walmart, the super markets and every place else around here are Sally's (Salvation Army). They are my choice and I like to go on a truly nasty winter day and hit them hard. Enough to make the bell ringer smile and feel it was worth standing out there in the blowing snow.

I give to charities through my paycheck at work but in general I am almost anti-charity in that their overhead, etc. is a waste of $$$. What we do like to do is to surprise a waitress/waiter during the season by dropping a crazy big tip when they are awesome. Huge bonus if they are good to my kids.

A shameless plug?

I thought that was one you'd admit to your mates.

Must have lost in translation.

I think these sexy forums have corrupted my mind. :wobbly: I'm imagining butt plugs.

We give to the Salvation Army when we shop (the red kettles); we sponsor a child; and we give to charities associated with our church. All intended to help people and especially children. You're right them01, charities are hurting a bit with the economy sinking like it is and all we can do to help has got to be good.
