Robert Strange McNamara the Secretary of Defense fron 1961 to 1968 under both Presidents JFK and LBJ Died today.He was 93. Long acknowledged as the key architect of the Viet Nam war,McNamara was instrumental in selling the Gulf of Tonkin incedient to Congress and the American people as a pretext to escalate the war. In later years he became the subject of Errol Morris's documentry: The Fog of War in which McNamara lamented much of the decisions which lead to this long period of American strife.

I WELL remember my Secretary of Defense.

I wouldn't have a scar on my hip(from VN)& a 10% disability if it wasn't for
him but I still thought he was great! Irish :irish:
