good mailman

This guy doesn't deserve probation he should get a medal.

Oldfart 11-19-2008 04:23 PM

One man doing the job of two. They were lucky that he had the ethics to deliver "real" mail.

lizzardbits 11-19-2008 06:31 PM

my dad likes his junkmail........he uses it soaked with kerosene to help start the wood burning stove.

Jude30 11-19-2008 09:47 PM

I'm torn. There are certain pieces of junk mail/catalogs I want to get. But if my mailman decided to keep all the credit card applications it would save me the time and energy it takes to shred it.

Lord Snow 11-19-2008 11:22 PM

Catalogs I don't mind. I need something to read in the bathroom, and sometimes they give Christmas present ideas. Credit card applications, politician promos, store fliers, they can keep. I wish I could say they can keep the bills too, but you get in trouble if you don't pay those and "I never got the bill" only goes so far.

I've got a lot of admiration for the guy. Hope his health holds up.

Lilith 11-20-2008 05:31 AM

I don't think anyone should be commended for not doing their job. My job is hard and taxing on my health. There are not enough hours in my day to do what is legally required of me based on mandates, and state and federal laws. I do not get to choose to not teach a subject because I feel it has little or no significance. I can't decide to not teach Social Studies because of all the things I do it is the least necessary. I work longer days, go in on my days off, work smarter when possible, don't take a lunch break (or even get to pee most days) but I don't just decide to cut something from my responsibilities.

Just like Lilith to come in hear spoutin' off a bunch of common sense and reason.

:p

Have I mentioned lately how awesome you are, Lil? :lurv:

Even if you did, ahem, forget my birthday. :spank: :p

gekkogecko 11-20-2008 08:08 PM

Ignore this reply.

Lilith already said it.

Not awesome just working too hard. Hence I did forget the birthday of someone I care so much about.

Aqua 11-21-2008 02:12 PM

Yes, awesome. :)

Don't make me come down there! :D

scotzoidman 11-21-2008 05:51 PM

I'm kinda torn myself. His job is to deliver the mail, whatever the quality. Much as I hate junk mail, the people that generate it did pay the USPS for a service, & in this case, services not rendered.

jseal 11-23-2008 06:54 AM

He was not entitled to unilaterally stop doing the parts of his job he no longer felt like doing.

BIBI 11-24-2008 07:25 AM

My daughter is a letter carrier and believe me NOT delivering the "admail" is grounds for termination of her employment. Here in Canada the posties get a great hourly rate and for every piece of admail they are paid extra above their hourly rate......

Whether this guy was not well or not is of no consequence. He wasn't doing his job......he should have gone on sick leave.

ah well at least he didn't become "disgruntled" :)
