No Fat Talk Week
 

Hello ladies, and those who love them. Those of you who know me know that occasionally I like to beat the drum for self-acceptance, especially around body image, which we all struggle with, men and women, but especially women.

I ran across this video today. It's all text and totally safe for work, provided no one minds you being on YouTube at work. But I thought it was a brilliant and much-needed message.

This has always been a huge issue for me, and one that has stopped me doing things - is still stopping me doing things. The video had me in tears :boohoo:

I've always had body ishooooos and f.i.n.a.l.l.y I have slowly started to realize that I am a beautiful woman/mother/wife/friend/lover PERSON. My outward appearance will never be Vogue model material--nor do I want to be--as nowadays 100% of photos are airbrushed so the models aren't even themselves model material.

I do want to loose weight, but no longer is it for appearance, I want to see my kids grow up, I want to have enough stamina to laugh and play, I want to feel healthy and my body feel as vibrant as my soul is vibrant.

I can't handle it now before work. I will check it out later.

That's amazing timing. My boyfriend and I have been discussing problems regarding his daughter's weight gain earlier today, then I come here and find this thread.

I personally have found much of my own life has been wasting obsessing about my own body shape, both by myself and others who claim to love me.

Agreed--How 'bout "No Fat Talk LIFETIME"?

I've been saying it for years and nobody listened!
