"21 days
 

is a habit. 40 a way of life."

Someone recently said this to me. This person had challenged themselves to do something for 21 days in an effort to make it a habit and then continued toward 40 hoping for a permanent change.

Is there a change you want to make? Could you do it for 21 days?

My friend has avoided any, I mean any, negative talk for over 21 days now. I am eager to see the changes in him the next time we meet.

What do you think? 21 days? What could you do differently?

21 days, 40 days, 100 days don't constitute a habit. A habit is a mental thing, days chasing it are just repetition..

I don't know OF, I think that at some point it becomes a habit ... a lot of positive thought gurus say that 21 days sets a habit...I think there are things where this doesn't apply as much, addictions and such. But if you want to make the change then 21 days is a dang good start towards that change ... I also think that if you are trying to get rid of a bad habit, you have to replace it with something else ... if you just say I'm not going to "X", it usually works so much better if you also say ... but I will do "Y" everytime I want to do "X".

- Transition to healthier eating
- Have sex every day for 21 days...hope to make it to 365 days. ;)

Yes, I'd like to try both...I think I will wait until I am back from the next 2 weeks of travel.
