Comedian George Carlin, a counter-culture hero famed for his routines about drugs and dirty words, died of heart failure at a Los Angeles-area hospital on Sunday, a spokesman said. He was 71.

He was funny as fuck.

I had the opportunity to see him live and for 3 hours I laughed so hard my sides ached, and I had tears streaming down my face.

He was a little wacky, a little zany, a LOT funny but mostly, much of what he said made sense.

Thanks for so many laughs when we needed it George.

You will be missed.

he based his comedy from every day life and that is why I think his comedy hit home with so many. Less we forget the 7 dirty words.

At least now he's finally got a place for all his stuff, without everybody else's crap in the way.

I guess it says something about me that 2 different people saw fit to gift me with his book, "Brain Droppings"...it's a tome which made me laugh, made me think, pissed me off at times, but never bored me.

There was never another like him, & I despair that we'll never see the likes of him again, just when we may need him the most. He once said he hoped in the afterlife he could watch the decline & fall of world civilization, on some kind of ethereal CNN...
