State moves to ban fake testicles on vehicles

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (Reuters) - Senate lawmakers in Florida have voted to ban the fake bull testicles that dangle from the trailer hitches of many trucks and cars throughout the state.

Republican Sen. Cary Baker, a gun shop owner from Eustis, Florida, called the adornments offensive and proposed the ban. Motorists would be fined $60 for displaying the novelty items, which are known by brand names like "Truck Nutz" and resemble the south end of a bull moving north.

The Florida Senate voted last week to add the measure to a broader transportation bill, but it is not included in the House version.

In a spirited debate laced with double entendre, Senate lawmakers questioned whether the state should curtail freedom of expression in vehicle accessories.

Critics of the ban included the Senate Rules Chairman, Sen. Jim King, a Jacksonville Republican whose truck sported a pair until his wife protested.

The bill's sponsor doubted it would succeed.

"It's probably not going to make it through the process," Baker said on Thursday. "It won't be much of story in a few days."

Got to love a state that has it's priorities in tact.
Cutting services to tens of thousands with developmental disabilities------> check
fake bull balls-----> nope

Probably true.

Wonder how they'd feel about it if people were using legislators' nutsacks as vehicle accessories...after all, it's not like they serve any useful purpose any other way...

Personally I like the way it's a gun shop owner of all people who finds testicles offensive.

'Blowing animals/people to kingdom come - fine. Lumps of plastic in the shape of reproductive organs - offensive'

Whatever you say....

Madam Lilith,

You're looking at this through the wrong end of the politiscope.

While they're spending time on idiot irrelevancies like this, they're not

committing other atrocities on the Florida public.

"Critics of the ban included the Senate Rules Chairman, Sen. Jim King, a Jacksonville Republican whose truck sported a pair until his wife protested."

Does that mean she had him "neutered" or just his truck?

I've seen these things a couple of times and they made me giggle every time...not sure why...

ha ha. They managed to murder education in this state before they got distracted.

This proposal was removed from the transportation bill. However they still castrated funding to education, the elderly and those with developmental disabilities.

i find pro-life stickers offensive, maybe i should vote to have them banned

Oldfart 05-03-2008 07:54 PM

MM, you stand a better chance of getting them to vote to require pro-life bumper stickers to be carbon negative.
