Transition: Molly Ivins
Mary Tyler "Molly" Ivins a colummist for the Texas Observer,political commentator and best selling author from Austin Texas,passed away Wednesday evening after fighting a long battle with breast cancer.She was 62.

I read that and can't remember being familiar with her work.

She made quite the reputation for herself for being even slightly liberal in the state of Texas (which she described as being to the right of Ronald Reagan)...she was an early tormentor of the Bush family, & I believe was the first to refer to W as "shrub"...at nearly 6 feet tall, she said she was never the shy demure southern belle material, & her first book was aptly titled, "Molly Ivans Can't Say That, Can She?"

I used to love her editorials. They ran them in the Kansas City Star and they never failed to make the conservatives (which there are a ton of) foam at the mouth.
