New Kitty on the block?

Cougar, a new term for the changing times of our society. I am encouraged that I've found this to be a somewhat positive term and find it much more appealing then the more commonly heard MILF.

Interestingly enough the term "cougar" is a compliment. One reason for it being complimentary is that being a cougar has no definitive age, it represents a large "age gap" between a younger male and a more mature or older female. Secondly, because it implies an agile and frisky cat. I wonder if we have Cat Woman to thank for this?

In todays terminology a cougar is not a stigma, but rather it's a sophisticated species of female who seeks the pleasure of younger males. She avoids the entanglements of a "relationship," in favor of the freedom of the hunt. She opts for the "no strings attached sexual scene."

She has overcome the taboos related to her sexual identity, embraced her true self, and now lives her life to its fullest. Always one for adventure, she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to get it!

Interstingly enough, the term seems to be reaching mainstream advertsing too. I noticed one the cell phone service provider made a reference to a "cougar" .... Two women are talking and the one says ... "there's a courgar over there chatting up your boyfriend"...she replied back "that's his mother." Struck me as funny.

Are you a cougar? Could you be a cougar? Do you find cougars to be enticing? Are cougars here to stay or just a passing "fad"?

Never heard the term before. Am I a cougar? no. Could I be? sure.

Hmmmm, me wonders if 39 yrs old is too old of prey for a cougar?

The term's been around for a while, but it's carried an intimation of something between "desperate and dateless" and "grab-a-granny".

Lilith 01-16-2007 09:02 PM

ooo I'll skip then. I'd rather be a MILF

PantyFanatic 01-16-2007 09:54 PM

Just be gentle with me please. :o

It was mentioned at the beginning of this season of How I Met Your Mother. Jane Seymour played a Cougar Barney was trying to get to stalk him.

The Scene

Best part of the episode is Marshal wearing a KU shirt. Go Jayhawks!

It appears there is an effort being made to change the definition. As the fine women over at urbancourgar.com proclaim, "it's not a stigma, it's a sophisticated species of female who seeks the pleasure of younger males. She avoids the entanglements of a "relationship," in favor of the freedom of the hunt.

She has overcome the taboos related to her sexual identity, embraced her true self, and now lives her life to its fullest. Always one for adventure, she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to get it!"

Technically, a cougar could be a 30 year old woman that prowls on college lads. Just as much as it could be a 60 year old woman chasing 40 year old tail. I thought it was an interesting and developing term.

Or maybe I'm desperate and dateless... or just want to be. :)

Eh... something to balk about.

cougar bait?

throw me into the hungery cougar pin!

Generally, I find younger men boring....heck, I find most men my age boring.

Give me 15 years and maybe I'll feel different...but a certain amount of emotional and cerebral maturiety is necessary to me before I want to have sex with someone. Else what else do you talk about in the morning?

Loulabelle 01-17-2007 01:49 AM

You don't talk to them about anything Osuche - they're outside, washing your car!

Oldfart 01-17-2007 02:16 AM

Bundled out the door at 2am with underpants in one hand and car keys in the other is the fate of the cougar-prey. It's all about her and none about breakfast. Breakfast can lead to conversation, which has been know to spawn relationships (or attempted relationships), a state discouraged by hard-line cougars, I hear.

what's an older guy who trolls for young women called?
