Gerald Ford

Former U.S. president Gerald Ford has passed at 93.

I loved his quirky clumsiness.

I just saw that come on the TV a few minutes ago. Got to meet his wife once at a dinner back in college. Very sweet woman. I remember her saying to us, "Good thing Gerald isn't here with all you boys. He'd be wanting to throw the football around and then I'd have to listen to him moan for the next week about how his shoulder hurts."

A man who made a lot of friends and enemies.

His footprint in history is deeper that it seems.

Did you know that both he and Harry S. Truman died the day after Christmas?

RIP President Ford for all you did in service to your country!

interesting tidbits of information about the only President from Michigan.

I live 2 hours from Grand Rapids, his Michigan home, and the site of the Gerald Ford Library. Once I'm able, I'm going to trek over and visit the Library, I'm quite sure it will prove to be worthwhile.

To Gerald R Ford, former US President and University of Michigan football player.

"Hail to the Chief", and "Hail to the Victors".

Thank you for your service, sir. You will be missed.

One of the few "good" presidents we've had in recent history.

I would submit, with all due respect, that the ground he tread upon was perhaps soft & muddy to leave that deep print; None the less, I give him credit for navigating the quagmire without being sucked under, a rather ordinary man thrust into an extraordinary time...

Here! Here!

He also was instrumental in getting Canada into the G7 (now G8). He lived close to the border & had a great relationship with us (except when he opposed the Toronto Blue Jays becoming a team).

I admit, I don't know much about Mr. Ford's doings, political or otherwise, but I pray that his soul rests easy.
