Proposals
I recently helped Sexychrissy's friend with a marriage proposal location and it got me to thinking. What are some of the best places and ways to get that special proposal out there?

I think he asked me when we were naked :D

souls_cry2000,
In the Delivery Room. |
On the steps of the Jefferson Monument at sunset. :D
Worked for me. |
Right after a carriage ride through the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City at night in December. Was handing her a cup of hot chocolate and told her I was going to give her a napkin but instead..................... carat and a half that made her a bit happier.
Well, for a little bit anyway. |
IowaMan her friend did it in Minneapolis on a carriage ride. That seemed like the most romantic way to go at the time. Sexychrissy thought so too and he followed our advice.

For me, I think that a place of significance can be just as important as a place of romance. I proposed in our favorite restaurant, a sushi place called Taki. It's an exceptional place and costs a bit, but the food is so good and the service so excellent, the ambiance so spot on that we scroung our money and go once a month. Our 5th anniversary was coming around, and I made that our excuse for going. The folk there really made it special for us, helped me plan out the surprise and everything.
But it was really special mostly because that was 'our place'. So even if it's not anywhere particularly fancy, if it's a special place for the two of you, that just makes the moment all the more memerable. |
In keeping with the manner of our meeting, I sent Fussy an e-mail saying," I've just realised that I'm 26 and my biological clock is ticking. Let's get married so we can have a baby."
We then talked about it for about 3 days before eventually sealing the deal in a supermarket carpark with a Haribo jelly ring. The following day we went shopping for diamonds. :D |
A woman who just started work with me showed me this gigantic engagement ring last week. She was in Scotland in her ancestral home when her boyfriend proposed. I thought that was quite romantic.

Mayhem proposed to me at Stonehenge Summer Solstice 2005. The moon was almost full and I was just beside myself with the magic of the night and that the stones were still warm from the day, and I thought that it couldn't get better and then he asks me to be his wife...........
......we are getting married in 11 days on the 29th of Dec. as you can tell, the proposal worked for us. |

I wonder if I'd have been neckid on the carriage in the middle of December if things would've ended up working out for me? Something to think about for next time I guess. |
Picnic lunch in Rome....he marched me all over the Capitaline hill looking for a "perfect" spot, and I was about to lose my temper cause I was tired and hungry. Boy am I glad I didn't ;). We got a standing ovation from a school trip that was passing by.
While he definately scored bragging points for timing, I think CrouchingBuddha's right. Anything works, so long as there's some heart in it. Wyndhy's story just about charmed the socks off me...it doesn't need to be a big production. Although I'd have had a hard time telling my Mom the story if he'd chosen a nekkid proposal ;). |
