Uniquely Qualified

Someone recently told Mr Osuche that he was one of the top 20 people in his field. That got me to thinking....

Is there something you're uniquely talented at doing? A thing at which you might be best in the world? What is it? Would you be willing to enter a contest to prove it?

I don't necessarily mean it's something connected with your job (but it could be) -- just something you really shine when doing.

No, I'm a polymath which means I have a working knowledge of shitloads, but no real depth.

PF, not a touch of potty humour LOL.

sodaklostsoul 12-03-2006 09:41 PM

*snicker*

Oldfart, do you think PF would really give you some crap?!?! :D

I'm just the best at being me.

I'm incredibly qualified at not much of anything.......I have a feeling it's why I'm in the predicament I am in. :)

I do have an incredible ability to remember names and sports statistics and other useless information.

Sorry I'm a jack of all trades and master of none of them!

Hmmm, by that answer I'm thinking the last interview did'nt go well. :(

I've got similar abilities to 1nutworld but there was a time (it seems like it was decades ago) that I was a very much wanted television director. Granted, it was while I was in college and it was only about seven stations bidding for my services but still it felt nice to be wanted. Nowadays I can't say that I'm uniquely qualified for a hell of a lot of anything other than perhaps giving reviews of hospital cafeterias. :(

SDLS

PF give crap?

How could you even intimate that he . . . . .

Oh God!!! I said "intimate". Who's hidden my medication?

"World Class?" No, I don't think so. I used to be a pretty good systems analyst providing technical support on mainframe systems, but not THE most outstanding.

I like Soda's answer ... "I'm best at being me." :boink:

Oldfart 12-04-2006 04:45 AM

Yep.

LixyChick 12-04-2006 05:40 AM

I can touch my tongue to the tip of my nose. Does that count?

Naaaaaaa...I'm great at sewing but I wouldn't put it out there for a contest. There are plenty of great seamstresses in the world.

Everything that makes me unique can also be found in others...just not all in a single person in the exact same way (<---if that makes any sense).

*sigh* Just when you get to thinking you're all that and a side of fries...here comes a thread to put some perspective on it!

osuche,

My specialty is process modeling – usually business processes. As others here, I can not claim to be the best, but I am quite proficient.

When I turn it on...and only when I bother to turn it on...I think I may well be the world's best diplomat. There aren't many difficult situations in which I can't talk someone off the ceiling and calm them down. Is bloody hard work though, and there are times, when people just don't deserve that much effort spent on them!

I also make great shortbread! LOL

WildIrish 12-04-2006 09:25 AM

I try my best, but I am what I am.

Oldfart 12-04-2006 09:33 AM

Popeye?
