New glasses and I'm walking around like I'm on drugs. How long til this gets better?

jay-t 09-09-2006 10:11 AM

took me about a week when I got bi-focals just watch going up or down stairs.

Lilith 09-09-2006 10:26 AM

I know. I almost busted my ass just getting into the house :p

Steph 09-09-2006 11:27 AM

Are they bifocals?

I've worn really strong glasses forever & I've never felt woozy. There was one time that my lens fell out & I put it in the wrong way & that screwed me up.

Lilith 09-09-2006 11:36 AM

no they are for astigmatisms but they changed the magnification as well

WildIrish 09-09-2006 05:36 PM

asstitmajism?

And do your new glasses make things appear larger? :D

Cjack 09-09-2006 05:53 PM

Go ask your hubby to take his pants off.
Now maybe you will like what you see.

They do make things bigger? Don't they?

Lilith 09-09-2006 05:59 PM

They have a sign on the corner of the lenses, "objects may be larger than they appear"

Oldfart 09-09-2006 06:01 PM

It's a chance for a new career.

Hire them out for 15 min for $20.00 as a new drug free way to alter perceptions.

"Hey, don't pick on me man, I'm glassed."

Fangtasia 09-09-2006 06:41 PM

Takes me a couple of days to adjust...i have Astigmatism too

Same as when i change from glasses to contacts...takes me a few hours to adjust...i've got to be very careful with distances and give myself time to change between each one

Glasses make things smaller...contacts put them at normal size....always amazes me the difference

wyndhy 09-09-2006 08:11 PM

when i got a new script, (after about 10 years with no check ups so they were wayyy different) it took me a few days too.

try not to bash the freckles off your bod...they are too cute to lose. :p:D

Why would you want it to get better? Passing on a free buzzzzz! Now that is plain crazy :hippy:

scotzoidman 09-09-2006 10:36 PM

New eyegoggles always lead to altered perceptions, in my experience...my first bifocals about 10 yrs ago moved the floor into another dimension, then getting a new non-bifocal pair for driving seemed to put me about 10 feet over the the road surface...the most bizarre change came a few months back with a new script for dark brown sunglasses w/bifocals, put a 3-D halo around everything (blue halo at the top, red at the bottom) for a couple of days...
Don't worry, it'll become normal in a while, just avoid stairs & carnival funhouses until your brain finally believes what your eyes are telling it...

I haven't had too much trouble, maybe a day or two, but my wife usually seems to take a week or two to adjust to new glasses. Not sure why.

gekkogecko 09-10-2006 12:45 PM

Take my word for it LIlith, the adjustment process will go faster if you use them more. Try surfing the net for your favorite porn sites, so you get a much practice in as short a time as you can.
