A Day with the Girls
 

So a friend and I went and pampered ourselves today by getting manicures and pedicures. Souls enjoyed the finished product greatly. This got me to wondering how many guys/girls out there enjoy pretty fingernails and toenails?

I decided that it would be nice to share a bit of my day with all of the people at Pixies. These are my pictures of today's pampering.

Now that I've gotten those pictures out of the way it's time to have some fun.

I think a little pampering is a good thing. However, as a single mom I just do my own nails and spend the money on the kids.

Those are beautiful. I use to have mine done all the time too. Just like that! I can't have long nails now or I'll claw someones face in what I do.

I think they are lovely. I am a nail biter and have been my whole life. I really would like to stop this nasty habit and have been thinking about having my nails done so that maybe I can learn to break the habit. I have never in my life been to a manicurist and have no idea what they would do to me or how much it all cost. :shrug:

Tess -- go to a beauty school, they tend to be less expensive. Ask for acrylic tips...the tips will keep you from biting your nails. You can do them natural or paint them any color you like. I highly recommend a mid-length as it's hard to get used to really long nails quickly. Oh...and pricing...in our area it's about $35 for the initial application at the beauty school, and $10 for filler/maintenance work (which needs to be done when your nails grow out)

I leave my fingernails bare...I am not a nail biter, but they do break or tear so I tend to keep them at a short-ish length. I paint my own toes every other week...always some variant of bright red or dark pink.

I love love love getting pedicures, my toes always look so cute when I'm done, and it's so relaxing. It's a bit weird at first, to have someone paying that much attention to your feet, but it's wonderful.

Hey Tess- My friend i went with is a nail bitter and the ony way she doesnt bite her nails is if she has acrylics

I go to a spa about every two weeks, hair done, (it' the longest it's been in a while, still pretty short by "Texas" style) nails done, a waxing touch up... and if budget and time permit, a nice long massage.
I keep my nails short, but they look pretty.
(it's a practical- sexual thing, and I if I have to explain...)
